Explorations V Children’s Museum, located at 109 North Kentucky Avenue in downtown Lakeland, will host its annual Children’s Festival and Picnic in the Park on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 10am until 3pm. The festival will include art, science, music, woodworking, giant slide, entertainment and many other hands-on activities throughout nearby Munn Park. Reactory Factory will perform at 11a.m. with Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo Shows held at 11:45a.m. and 12:45p.m.
The admission fee for the festival is $5 per museum member and $7 general admission with those under two admitted free. All activities are included with admission while supplies last. Families are encouraged to bring their own picnic lunch to enjoy in the park. Low-cost, family friendly snack items will also be available for purchase.
The festival is held annually in conjunction with the national “Week of the Young Child” and the statewide “Children’s Week” which focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families.
